Lanette H. is the proud mother of 7 children, 6 of whom still live at home: Shakim (15), Mahogani (13), Glenise (11), Hezekiah (9), Omega (6), and Promise (4). They live in a motel room with 2 beds and a kitchenette, but it's very cramped. Her kids aren't really able to play outside of the motel because the neighborhood is getting worse. The kids love their school and Lanette is doing everything in her power to make sure they stay there. Lanette has been unsuccessful in her ongoing efforts to find a full-time. She was on unemployment until it maxed out. She struggles daily but doesn't let that get in her way. She is going to school and is managing to maintain a high GPA. Her only means of getting around is public transportation or she walks where she needs to go. She did manage to get work study and was hired by the GAP for the holidays; however, it's just not enough. She needs clothing for her kids, help with the motel rent of approximately $300 a week, assistance with getting better living arrangements and hopefully a car. She is a pure woman of God who is trying to do what's best.
