Brandy M. is a single pregnant mother of 2 kids, Sierra 11 and Makiah 3. She moved from Fort Worth to Houston because of financial difficulty and lack of jobs. When they first arrived they stayed in a motel. Her boyfriend ended up taking their money and leaving her and the kids on their own. At that time Brandy had a car. An elderly lady offered them a temporary place to stay. Her daughter helped Brandy get a job doing telephone sales but during that 1st week of work, she woke up one morning to find her car had been repossessed. This limited Brandy's ability to get to work and take her 11 yr old daughter to school since they don't live near the public transportation line. So Brandy began walking the mile to the bus stop every morning with my 11 yr old daughter, leaving at 5:30 am and not getting home until 6:30 or 7:00 pm. She was forced to leave her 3 yr old son with the elderly woman all day. After several attempts at getting some state funded day care, she was told that the state no longer had funding for daycare. \"So now here I am with no job, no transportation, no way to get my daughter to school and no daycare for my son. We lost ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING we had and we need help desperately.\"

They need: $1000 for transportation costs; $1500 for daycare; $1500 for necessities
