A little over a year ago, Terry worked as a Network Engineer raising her son Charlie. She made a decision to leave her position based on personal circumstances and needs concerning Charlie. She receives $600 month in child support and $306 in food stamps. She is now looking for work in ANY position but has not had success. She has sold furniture, exercise equipment etc. to help pay bills. She wants her 7 year old son to not worry. “Charlie doesn’t complain or ask for anything because he knows how hard we have it. However, I didn’t want to go without trying, looking or even asking for help... I have never asked for help and always worked and taken care of my family up until now. .. I have found that unless you’re a tax credit /write off or meet specific criteria, you’re limited to help. I find this frustrating as a single mom just looking to give Charlie basic needs. I want him to believe that all things are possible if we believe.”
